In the hustle & bustle of the traffic jam I started fidgeting. The radios have nothing much to offer. The cds have all been heard before. Hmm maybe the cassettes have something to offer. Searched for some old forgotten cassettes in the compartment. Found one ..Golden Oldies Vol 6 it said. Gave it a try . Well.. not bad.. first song “A Man Without Love”- Engelbert Humperdinck then “Return To Sender”- Elvis, “Crying In The Rain”-Everly Brothers , followed by the haunting melody of the Platters “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” and another Engelbert’s song “The Way It Used To Be’. Memories kept flooding back.. There seems to be a pattern here. The next song took my breath away. It was the song I once sent to someone. A song that professed my emotions then. We were studying in the same campus albeit in different faculties. This song meant a lot to me and is still special . The lyrics is simple but unforgettable . It goes like this:-

You’re my world
You’re every breath I’ll take
You’re my world
You’re every move I’ll make

Other eyes see stars in the skies
But to me they shine within your eyes

As the trees reach out for the sun above
So my heart reach out to you for love
With your hands resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You’re my world
You’re my night and day
You’re my world
You’re every prayer I’ll pray

If your love ceases to be
Then it’s the end
It’s the end
Of the world for me

My eyes were a bit misty. I played that song again and again .I’ve almost forgotten what really happened then. I’m sure she’s happy wherever she be and whatever she’s doing. Yup the world did’nt end. I have my own life now. I wonder if she’s married or….still looking at the stars up in the skies.. sighhh…
